Mrs. Helen Durham Griffin, 93, of Grenada, formerly of Winona, passed away at Vickers Personal Care Home in Mathiston on Tuesday, June 27. She was born in Montgomery County on January 2, 1924, to Tom Jones Durham and Nellie Neal Tyler Durham. She was a 1941 graduate of Winona High School and a homemaker. Mrs. Griffin was a Methodist and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Major R. Cleve Griffin Jr. (USAF Ret.); infant son, William Wayne Griffin; daughter-in-law, Sherry Griffin; five sisters; and one brother.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Griffin (Carol) of Winona and Robert N. Griffin (Kay) of Starkville; granddaughter, Laura Griffin Faulkner (Frank) of Winona and two great-grandchildren, Griffin and Gracee Faulkner of Winona.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Winona Garden of Memory. Rev. Clifton Curtis and Rev. John L. Walker will officiate the service.
