Lindel Lewis Allen, age 89 of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. He was born on April 3, 1928 in Missouri and was one of fourteen children. Lindel is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, B. Louise Allen; his son and daughter-in-law, Lin and Sandra Allen; granddaughter, Ashley Armistead (Beau) and their children, Cole, Judah, and Zoe; granddaughter Lindsay Moore (Robert) and their children, Lani, Ella, and Robert Jr.; and his brother, Gayland Allen of Flint, Michigan. Lindel was a loyal member of Frazier United Methodist Church and the Jack Thompson Sunday School class. He enjoyed three careers during his lifetime. With twenty years of service as an air traffic controller, Lindel retired from the United States Air Force. He then went on to head the air traffic control school for sixteen years at Fort Rucker as a federal employee. He finally retired at age 79, after a career as a Senior Financial Consultant for MetLife Financial Services. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
