SPRING GROVE -- The funeral for Thora B. Aasum will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Burial will be in Hesper Lutheran Cemetery in Hesper, Iowa.

Mrs. Aasum, 92, of Spring Grove, died Friday (Feb. 23, 2007) at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.

Thora Lommen was born April 1, 1914, on the family farm. On March 14, 1941, she married Bennie Aasum at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. They bought a farm near Mabel, where they lived until they retired and built a home in Spring Grove. They were members of Hesper Lutheran Church in Mabel during the years they were farming and became members of Trinity Lutheran Church after moving to Spring Grove. She was a member of the TLCW and church circles. Prior to her marriage, she had been employed by Dr. Ness in Mabel, and later worked for Control Data in Spring Grove and Green Lea Manor in Mabel.

She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
