Deceased migrated to California
in 1846. He took an active and pro-
minent part in the war against
Mexico and afterwards filled of-
fices of honor and importance
in this State.

He sacrified before the Lord every
day, and his offerings were virtue,
temperance, patience, brotherly
kindness and charity. He died
believing that his life was neither
barren nor unfruitful.
