Obituary.

Lloyd E. Nall, the deceased was born in 1821. He was one among the earliest settlers of Knox county, locating on what is known as Jeffries farm, three miles northwest of Novelty. Mr. Nall was a brother of Mrs. Hugh Jeffries, and resided in this locality for several years. When the war of 1862 broke out Mr. Nall enlisted as a government soldier in defense of his country. At the close of the war he resided in Marion county for several years, after which he resided near Gilead, Lewis county, until a short time before his death which was long expected, as that dreadful disease consumption had taken a fatal hold upon him. He had moved to LaBelle where he passed peacefully away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leander Lemons. He leaves an aged wife, four sons and three daughters, besides many relatives and friends in the different localities where he has lived, to mourn his death.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. R. Ingman, of Durham, at the Dover Baptist church, where the remains were laid to rest.

Free at last from all temptation.
No more need of watchful care,
Joyful in complete salvation;
Given the victors crown to wear.
Welcomed at the pearly portals,
Even more a welcomed guest;
Welcomed to live immortal
In mansions of the blest.
