R.G. was born to Ralph E. and Alma E. (Hooper) Horton. He married Georgia Marie Snow on Dec. 28, 1943, in Pittsburg County, Okla.
She survives along with one daughter, Gennie (Steven) Gesche; six sons, Ronald G. Horton, David G. (Sherry) Horton, Carl W. (Cherold), Larry L. (Cindy) Horton, Curtis M. (Margaret) Horton and Richard G. (Sherrie) Horton; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geneva Castagana and Beactrice Tranble.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, five sisters and one grandson.
R. G. was a truck driver for Caterpillar Inc. for 32 years, retiring in the early 1980s.
