She was born in Tolono, IL a daughter of the late Eugene and Florence Campbell Frampton.
Being the daughter of a Standard Oil District Representative, Margaret lived in many cities in the State of Illinois. She attended six different schools by the eighth grade. After marriage, Margaret lived in eight different States. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in English and was a member of Chi Omega as well as Kappa Delta Pi and Zeta Phi Eta. She was a life-time member of the Alumni Association of The University of Illinois. Mrs. Chadwick taught English in Champaign, IL and Oak Ridge, TN prior to raising her family.
Margaret volunteered at numerous Hospitals and was a former Red Cross Auxiliary Executive Director during the Vietnam War. She was an active member of PEO and belonged to four chapters. In 1985, after seven years, she became the PEO President of the State of WV.
Mrs. Chadwick enjoyed travelling, playing Bridge, music and reading, but most importantly, the focus of her life was her family. The happiest times of her life were when her whole family was together. She was Methodist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David H. Chadwick, daughter Gayle Hutchens, infant sister Rosemary Frampton and sister Betty Blixen.
Memorial services will be Saturday, July 8, 2PM in the Rotunda at Glenwood Community, 200 Timberline Drive, Marietta, OH with Reverend George Spransy officiating. A reception will follow.
In following Margaret’s wishes, she will be cremated and her remains buried beside her husband in the Bailey Cemetery in Tolono, IL.
