The family migrated to White County, Arkansas in the 1850's. In 1862, along with his brother, Leander, Enoch joined the Arkansas Infantry, CSA. He was wounded on July 4, 1863 at the Battle of Helena, Arkansas. He carried the bullet in his shoulder the rest of his life. His cousin, Joseph Price, was killed in that battle.
On December 14, 1865, he married Mary Frances Price of White County, Arkansas. She was the widow of J. T. Murphey, who was killed in battle on March 29, 1864. She had two children, William G. Murphey and Laura Ann Murphey, who Enoch raised as his own.
Enoch and Mary Frances had eight children. In the 1870's, the family moved from Arkansas to Lamar County, Texas. They lived near Reno and Paris. He was a farmer. Most of the children, with their spouses, are buried in Lamar County.
