ASTHMA FATAL TO MRS. HOBBS

Mrs. Opal Hobbs, 38, of 2741 S. E. Market st., formerly of Ottumwa, Ia., died at Broadlawns General hospital Sunday morning of asthma.

Mrs. Hobbs, wife of Joe Hobbs, had lived in Des Moines 23 years.

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Frances Turner of Des Moines, and Mary, Mildred, and Nola all of Toledo, Ia.; two sons, William of Des Moines, and Clifford of Toledo; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bridges of Des Moines, and Mrs. Ethel Colis of Ottumwa; and six brothers, Harry, William, Jerry, and Jesse, all of Ottumwa; Carl, of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Bert, of California.

It is not known why the children were in the Lee Twp, Polk Co Children's Home in 1930 and the Toledo Children's Home on the 1940 Census.
