Silas P. Back Passes
At 93
Silas Palmer Back,93, died at
his home 52 Cayadutta street, yesterday. Mr. Back had been ill
since last November but became
critically ill last Friday and
passed away at 9 yesterday morning.
Mr. Back was born in Fort Plain but had made his home in Gloversville for 85 years. He had been employed as a mechanic by the F.
J. & G. railroad for 47 years until
his retirement about 15 years ago.
He was a member of the First
Methodist Episcopal church: the
Exempt Firemen's Association; the
F. J. a G. Benefit Society.
The only survivors are several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held
at Rogers and Young funeral
home, 23 Prospect avenue, at 1
o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The
Rev. Frank W. Bevan will officiate. Interment will be made in
Prospect Hill cemetery.
