Mrs. Melvina DeBruler White died at her home at Alford Monday at the age of 55 years. Her illness had been a long and painful one and death was not unexpected. Services were held at the residence at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday morning and another service at the Algiers Methodist church at 10 o'clock of the same morning, Rev. Pattison officiating and the interment was made at the Hargrave cemetery. Mrs. White who was a daughter of David M *** and Elisa Debruler was born June 18, 1860, at Algiers, Ind., and lived there until her marriage to Seth C White in 1903 when they went to Martin county to live. They remained there a few years but later returned to the county. Mrs. White was converted when a child and joined the M.E. church, living a consistent Christian Life. Her sufferings were borne with remarkable fortitude and she met death with the undaunted courage of a true Christian. She is survived by one brother, Milton DeBruler.
