Martin was born to Martin Francis "Frank" and Clarissa (Van Os) Dolan. He married Joan C. Karpis on May 23, 1953, at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death on January 7, 1979. He then married Catherine Williams on October 5, 1984, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Peoria, IL. She preceded him in death on August 20, 2006.
Marty worked as a pie route salesman in Chicago prior to moving his family to Peoria, where he accepted his sales position with Lever Brothers. He retired after 34 years with the company in 1991.
Martin is survived by five children, Lynne (James) Copes, Martin (Shelby) Dolan, Laureen (Jon) Wiegand, Michael Dolan and Deanne (Russ) Woods; two stepchildren, Maureen (Todd) Giardina and Mary (Jack) Bader; and one brother-in-law, Joseph Cosgrove.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Delores Pryor Coryell and Patricia Cosgrove.
