Retired Laundry Firm Worker To Be Buried Today
John E. Sanders Sr. of 1191 Sylven, former routeman for Banner Laundry Cleaners, died at 2:35 yesterday morning at John Gaston Hospital. He was 73.
Mr. Sanders worked for the cleaning establishment for about 35 years before retiring several years ago. He was a lifelong Memphian.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Agnes Jane Sanders; four daughters, Mrs. Frances Ray and Mrs. Alice Carothers of Memphis and Mrs. Lucille Reed and Mrs. Odell Hurtado of Oakland, Calif., and two sons, John E. Sanders Jr. of Memphis and Charles H. Sanders of Wilmington, N. C.
Services will be held at 2 this afternoon in Longtown. near Como, Miss. Burial will also be in Longtown with Kimbrell Funeral Home of Marks, Miss., in charge.
