CRAWFORDSVILLE- Oct. 25. Mary C. Naylor a relict of the late Judge Isaac Naylor died last Wednesday morning at the age of eighty-one years. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon and be conducted by Rev. J. R. Cunningham and Rev. E. B. Thomson.
Mrs. Mary C. Naylor was the daughter of Capt. Robert Anderson who was a Revolutionary soldier. She was born in Ft. Edwards, N. Y. on Dec. 27, 1807 and came to Indiana in 1816. She taught the first Sunday School organized in Indiana in Indianapolis in 1825. She married Judge Naylor on April 29, 1826, he dying on April 26, 1873. In 1853, they removed to Crawfordsville, where she has resided since. Five of their eight children are surviving--Mrs. Sarah J. Naylor, Mrs. Mary D. Whiteford, of this city, Mrs. Virginia L. Hay, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brier and Mrs. Kate Brier of California. The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
