Samuel Brenton Collins was born on August 8, 1900 in Ohio, the son of Joseph Clark "J C" Collins (1869–1953) and his wife Malissa Jane (Brown) Collins (1867–1955). [Although his Death Certificate has his middle name as Benton, several census records have it as Brenton, AND his World War I Draft Registration Card has the name at the top as Samuel Brenton Collins.]

He was married to Daisy Reynolds [and that marriage was sometime between the 1930 census, when he was single, and his death in 1935].

A machine merchant living in Nashville, Tennessee, Samuel was 35 years old and married when he died at Davidson County Asylum of bronchopneumonia on September 11, 1935. Burial was the next day in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Most of the above information is from his Death Certificate, with J C Collins of 1215 Greenfield Avenue as the informant.
