Victor served in the US Navy out of high school until 1977 made 3 med cruises on CVA-42 USS Roosevelt., he rejoinded the US Navy in 1979 until 1983 ~Son of Bernice Smith Selby & Victor D Selby Sr both of Tuscaloosa, AL. Grandson to Iva & Dewey Smith of Brookwood, AL. Sisters Vicki Selby Smith, Cynthia Selby Adams, Brothers Leroy Selby, Terry L Selby, several nieces. To my knowledge he was married once to Sandy, the marriage lasted less than 3 yrs, but only in the marriage about 15 months, he could not get his head on straight after returning from his last med cruise in 1977~ he was a hard worker and could be counted on if he gave his word. He did love the Lord and tried many times to get things right, he fell down but got back up & kept on trying. Have no idea why he was in Shorter, AL at the time of his death and unk cause of death so far. He pushed everyone away from him with his antics from whatever happened to him he was a very disturbed man! I want to know why a Navy Veteran 2x over is buried in a unmarked grave?!!! This is disturbing! ! Whatever happened to him his last Med Cruise destroyed his life & endangered the wife and her children. Thoughts were he used some type of drugs in one of the many ports the Med-Cruise dips into, he was never the same.
