Carl R. Dodds
Carl Robert Dodds, 82, Corydon, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
Born April 15, 1935, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Billy C. and Treasy L. Reising Dodds.
He was employed at General Electric in Louisville for 17 years, was the owner of Dodds and Sons Service Station for 17 years, was an employee of the Harrison County Highway Dept. for six years, was a member of First Baptist Church in Brandenburg and was a past member and deacon at Corydon Baptist Church for many years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Dodds.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, the former Edna R. Floyd; three children, Robert E. Dodds (Sheila) of Elizabeth, Carol Dodds LeMond (Kirby) of Lanesville and Douglas C. Dodds (Beverly) of Corydon; three grandchildren, Dawn LeMond Morris (Mike), Christopher R. Dodds (Sarah) and Cody LeMond; three great-grandchildren, Karlee Morris, Maycee Morris and Bailey Dodds; and two sisters, Betty Dodds North (Elvis) of Lineville, Ala., and Shirley Dodds Owen (Ronnie) of Floyds Knobs.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 19, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, July 20, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Sherman Ramsey.
Pallbearer: Rick Floyd, Chris Dodds, Cody LeMond, Mike Morris, Charlie Snyder and Tony Allen.
Honorary pallbearers: Charley Shireman and Paul Martin.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
