An article by a family member for the 1980 edition of Moniteau County Missouri History includes the following information about members of the Crutsinger family.

"Alfred Crutsinger was born in Winchester, Virginia, in 1789. He came to St. Louis, Missouri, in 1804. He was one of the signers of the original document applying for the incorporation of the city of St. Louis. He married into a prominent French family in St. Louis, Pelagie Yosti, daughter of Emelion and Theoslete Duran Yosti. They had three children, George Crutsinger, Louisa Crutsinger Musick, who lived in Lupus, Missouri, and Emelion Crutsinger. Emelion married Mary Oliver, and two of their children came to reside in Moniteau County.

William Crutsinger married Zena Hayter Dove and they raised a family which included; James who married Janie Swearingen; Millard who married Mellie Garnett; Richard who married Addie Garnett; Emmit remained a bachelor and made his home with his brother, James; Ada Stella who married William Pebley and later married Joseph Boyd; Mary Virginia who married William Samuel Allen (Buff); Lewis who married Edith Boyd. Ada and Lewis moved to Oklahoma and the rest of the family remained in Missouri.

After the death of Zena, William married Elvira Longan McKee. William and Zena are buried in the Garnett Cemetery in Marion, Missouri

Laura Louise Crutsinger came to Moniteau County from Osage County as the bride of George Washington Sartain. They settled in the Shiloh neighborhood."
