Marvin Carl Adams, a lifelong resident of this community peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at a Wichita Falls, TX hospital. He was 78 years old. Marvin was born August 22, 1938 in Comanche, to Lewis C. and Elsie May (Clyburn) Adams.

He attended school in Comanche. He and Norma Jean Arrington were united in marriage on March 13, 1955 in Wichita Falls, TX. He owned and operated Adam’s Garage for many years. He loved fishing, drilling water wells, riding and raising horses, and working on cars and boats.

He leaves behind his wife Norma “Normie”, of the home; three children: Carla Chambless and husband Michael, Farmersville, TX; Rick Adams and wife Turdy, Bray, OK; and Karen Johnson and husband Charles, Comanche; 10 grandchildren: Heath Green, Mandi Davis, Amber Ausburn, Dustin Sparks, Bryan Adams, Shaylyn Adams, Nicole Rather, Whitney Johnson, Johnathan Weekly and Dillon Johnson; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Graves and husband Jack, Comanche; and several nieces, nephews, and other close friends.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rodney Adams; one grandson, Cody Adams; three brothers: James Adams, David Adams, and Stevie Adams; and one sister, Joan Curtis.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, with Bro. Billy Morgan officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
