SYLVIA JEAN GLADHILL
---Sylvia Jean Gladhill, 71, of rural Macon, MO., passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at her home northeast of Macon.
--Sylvia was born on January 29, 1942, in Millard, MO., the daughter of Ernest Eugene and Juanieta E. (Cunnningham) Kinion. She graduated from LaPlata High School in 1960. Sylvia married Ted Ray Shelmadine on August 16, 1964, at the First Baptist church in Macon. He passed away on December 24, 1999. She then married Kenneth Gladhill on March 31, 2001, at the Macon County Courthouse. Sylvia worked at Toastmaster Inc. for many years. She was a Christian by faith and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, farming, working with cattle, and especially being a wife.
---Sylvia is survived by her husband, Kenneth of the home; three sisters, Betty Lou Pester and husband Joe of Sturgeon, MO., Jenell Dean Weber of Clarence, MO., Teresa Ann Kinion of Macon, MO. and nieces, nephews and in-laws.
---She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ted Shelmadine, and two sisters, Lorene Perkins and Charlotte Cross.
---Funeral services were Friday, November 1, 2012, at 1:00 pm at Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial was at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery east of Atlanta, MO. Visitation was Thursday evening, from 5 pm to 7 pm, at the funeral home.
