Selma Jean Hamrick Brown of Bremen passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 in a Rome hospital. She was born in Bremen, January 15, 1939, daughter of the late J. D. Hamrick and Louise Willis Hamrick. Mrs. Brown was a retired employee of the Bremen School System where she was a para –pro. She was a member of the Union Hill Methodist Church, where she was the pianistt for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. F. Brown and a brother, Wayne Hamrick.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Pennie and Gary Bowling of Bremen, Patty and Rick Malone of Bremen; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Barbara Hamrick of Bremen; a sister-in-law, Joan King Hamrick of Cartersville, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday, July 23 at 5:00 PM from the Union Hill Methodist Church with Reverend Toby Powers and Reverend Danny Hammett officiating. Music will be under the direction of John Gammon accompanied by Tonya Cochran. Jordan Malone, Zach Malone, Shane Bowling, Brandon Bowling, Micah Hamrick and Keith Locklear will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Union Hill Church Cemetery.
