Betsy L. Bratz Yanda, 55, of 1637 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died on April 13, 2011 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

The funeral was on Monday at St. John's United Church of Christ in Manitowoc. Officiating was the Rev. Dr. James Klein with burial at Valders West Cemetery.

Betsy was born on Sept. 17, 1955 in Valders, daughter of the late Harry and Arlene Reinke Pingel. On Oct. 14, 1972 she married Dennis Bratz. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1993. She then married Richard Yanda on July 25, 2001. Betsy was employed at Warren's Restaurant before taking a job at Luigi's Italian Restaurant and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Manitowoc.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Yanda of Manitowoc; six children and their spouses, Tammy and Mark Thayse of Algoma, Denise and Reggie Brandes of Brillion, Dennis Jr. and Shanna Bratz of Whitelaw, Lisa and Nicholas Smith of Manitowoc, Susan and Casey Braun of Whitelaw and Roy Bratz of Valders; two step sons and a step daughter-in-law, Terry and Candace Yanda and Troy Yanda, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Tyler, Mary, Lynn, Marissa, Brent, Alex, Heather, Jessica, Erin, Casey Jr., Samantha, Noah and Lily; three step grandchildren, Keith and Becki Jo Brandes, Ryan Brandes and Rossin Yanda. She is further survived by five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Clara and Larry Yanda, Patricia Yanda, Nancy Ducat, all of Manitowoc; Sharon and Gorman Lex, Mary Ann Krogh and Edward Stenzel, all of Valders; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Janice Pingel and Albert and Denise Pingel, all of Clarks Mills, her father-in-law, Arnold Yanda of Two Rivers and her mother-in-law, Florence Bratz of Valders. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Stenzel, a brother, George Pingel, her mother-in-law, Fern Yanda, her father-in-law, Raymond Bratz; three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
