Last Rites Conducted for Marion P. Lewis
Vernon, March 15 – Following funeral services held at his late home in Canastota this afternoon, the body of Marion P. Lewis was interred in Maple Grove Cemetery. IN the passing of "Bird" Lewis, as he was always called, there survive but three persons who lived east of the village and owned their homes at what was familiarly called Bull's Heard some fifty years ago. They are D. D. DeVotie of Utica, Adelbert Lewis of Auburn and Elmer E. Russell who still resides there. Some of these families were descendants of pioneer settlers of the town of Vernon.
