Mary L. Chantrenne, 67,A passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Bronson Battle Creek. Mary was born on April 5, 1947, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Richard J. and Tharon (Hallock) Smith. She was a 1966 graduate of Harper Creek High School and attended Kellogg Community College. Mary married her childhood sweetheart, Oscar Chantrenne, on June 30, 1967 in Battle Creek. He survives her. She was previously employed by Orchard Park Grocery and later as a Matron at the Calhoun County Juvenile Home retiring in 2000. Mary loved her family and raising her four boys. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the world and visited 49 of the 50 states. Mary enjoyed bowling and league bowling, camping, hunting and fishing. She enjoyed feeding family friends and neighbors when they would visit. Mary was a member of Level Park Baptist Church and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.

Surviving in addition to her husband Oscar are her sons Patrick Chantrene of Bronson, Jason (Michelle) Chantrenne of Battle Creek, Aaron Chantrenne of Battle Creek and Joshua (Amie) Chantrenne of Mesa, AZ. Mary also leaves her grandchildren Dustin, Zachary, Skyler, Oscar, Libby, Christopher, Nathan, Marah, Kylie and Ariana and great grandchildren Slater Macon, Chevelle and Lillian. She also is survived by her brothers Charlie (Holly) Smith and Robert (Sarah) Smith both of Battle Creek and Richie (Faye) Smith of Delton and his sisters Kathy (Roger) Golyar and Susie (Phil) Carnell both of Battle Creek. Mary was preceded by her sisters Amber Smith, Donna Eakins and Julia Stevens and her brother Richard J. Smith.

Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Royal Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Level Park Baptist Church or Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.
