Vivian was born January 27, 1919 in Lewistown, Montana to Albert and Anna E. Mesenbring.
She was raised on their ranch on the Judith River and graduated from Fergus High School in 1937.
On December 1, 1938, Vivian married Peter L. Andersen and they made their home on the ranch near Hanover, Montana.
They were blessed with five children. She was a homemaker and hard-working ranch wife for many years. Besides helping with the farm work, Vivian loved to cook and bake and was known to always have homemade cookies on hand. She remained on the ranch until the death of her husband in 1978 and she then moved into Lewistown.
Vivian worked at the Bambi Shop in Lewistown for a number of years, and later went to work at Owl Card and Gift (later named Gotta Have It). She was a member of the CMMC Pink Ladies and was on the hospitality board at Fountain Terrace. She loved to walk and was known to walk several miles every day.
She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since childhood. She remained involved in her church work until moving into New Horizons Assisted Living in 2011.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; brother, Kenneth "Kenny" Albert Mesenbring and sister, Helen A. (Mesenbring) Schultz both of Minnesota; and her son, Robert Andersen.
She is survived by daughter; Patricia Johnson of Indianapolis; three sons: Don (Linda) of Helena, MT, Larry (Sue) of Billings, MT and Peter Kent (Sharon) of Lewistown, MT; daughter-in-law, Johanna Andersen of Lewistown, MT; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Central Montana Memorial Gardens.
