Robert S. Aumen, age 93, of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at NHC in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Aumen was born on April 21, 1924 in Albuquerque, NM to the late Simon Joseph “Jack” Aumen and Clorinda Padilla Aumen. He was a retired policeman after serving 26 years with the El Paso, TX Police Department. He served in the US Army during WWII and he was engaged in battle with the US forces in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a decorated soldier. Mr. Aumen was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion both of Dawson Springs.

Surviving family members include his daughter ~ Sarah F. “Sally” Jackman of Dawson Springs, two grandchildren ~ Randy L. Ellsworth and Robert K. Jackman, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife ~ Katherine Elizabeth Aumen (departed 3-22-2013), step mother ~ Mary Aumen, and sister ~ Betty Alexander.

Visitation for Mr. Robert S. Aumen will be held from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 11:00 AM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY with the Rev. Jackie Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Christian County, Kentucky. A committal service with Military Honors will be conducted at 2:00 PM at the Cemetery. The Tennessee National Guard will provide the Military Honors Service.
