David's first marriage was to Hester Sedora ("Dora) Dace in 1888 (she was born in January, 1870 in MO). They had 10 known children.

After Dora's death between 1911 and 1918, David married Katie Ann Sears (or Scears) on 10-2-1918 (he was about 32 years older than her).

David's obituary was published in the 3-8-1945 edition of The Current Local, Van Buren, Carter Co., MO, on the front page (used with permission).

"D. J. (Davie John) Allison, for many years a resident of Van Buren, passed away Sunday at his home in Crystal City, following a lingering illness of several weeks. The body was brought here Tuesday, and following funeral services at the Baptist church, was placed to rest in the Van Buren cemetery. An obituary will follow in a later issue."

Even though this obituary states he passed away in Crystal City, his MO Death Cert. #38412 shows he was at St. Louis County Hospital in Clayton, St. Louis, MO when he died.
