He was a 1996 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and graduated from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training class 210 in April 1997. He served at SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team Two and SEAL Teams Three and Seven with deployments to EUCom and CentCom. Following his military career, he remained in government service as a civilian with tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the globe. He married in 2008, and they were the parents of three children. He and Nathaniel Delemarre were reportedly killed in the Jalalabad area of Afghanistan, when they were shot during a raid on an ISIS compound.
He was survived by his wife; their three children; his parents; a sister; a brother; and their families.
Interment was on July 14, 2017.
