New York Mills--Frederick J. Engle, 79, died in a Rome hospital Oct. 7, 1947 after several months of illness. He was born in Oswego, Apr. 20, 1868, son of Madison and Ebbie Johnson Engle. He came to New York Mills with his parents when he was about nine years old and had since lived in this vicinity. Surviving are one son, Raymond J., Fairhaven, Mass.; one brother, Ira S., New York Mills; one sister, Mrs. Grace Morrison, Oswego and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be from the Howard H. Wells Funeral Home, 100 Main St., Whitesboro at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. W. A. Caldwell pastor of the First Methodist Church, Whitesboro, will officiate. Burial will be in Glenside Cemetery, New York Mills.
