Josiah Little is the son of Joseph Little (1780-1859) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Little of Jackson County, Georgia and Tallapoosa, Georgia Haralson County. Josiah's siblings are; Mary Polly Little (1799-1934), Nancy Little (1804- ), William L. Litle (1805-1939), Anna Parks Little-Roberts (1807-1885), Theophilus Frank Little (1810-1875) and Arthella Little (1812-1847). When his mother died his father remarried and had more children. (Joseph Little #295-586-97). Some family members say that.. Joseph Little was born in 1771 and died in 1860. Some believe that his first name was William. Josiah 's step mother was, Mary "Polly" Johnson . She married his father on 3 March 1825 Jackson County, Georgia. Josiah Little married Martha W. "Patsy" Steward abt. 1819 in Jackson County, Georgia. They had seven children that I know of; Francis Marion Little (1820-1895), Sarah Ann Little-Stephens (1822-1913), Joseph Early Little (1824-1905), Martha Amanda Little-Anderson (1826-before 1888) married Mr. Richard Anderson and lived in Hico, Texas. John P. Little (1832- died during the Civil War) married a woman named Letha, who moved to Franklin County, Alabama after his death. John was in the 48th Alabama Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. Josiah and "Patsy" Little's daughter, Elmina P. Little was born in 1830 and died between 1864-1865 Cleburne County, Alabama. Josiah and his family had lived in Jackson County, Georgia...Haralson County, Georgia... Calhoun County, Alabama and Cleburne County, Alabama. (that I no of) His grandparents are; Captain George W. Little (1735-1815) #396-399-42 and Mary Handley Douglas Little- Atterbury (1740-1790). His grandfather was born in Dumfries, Dumfries -Shire, Scotland. Martha W. "Patsy" Steward's parents are: Daniel Wesley Steward (1848-) and Chrity A. Daily-Steward (1845-1922). At the time of his death..Josiah Little 's grandchildren were, Sarah Grimes, Noah Grimes, Mary Anderson, Lewis Anderson, Newman Pounds, Lou Pounds, Jesse Barns, Robert B. Barns, Sarah & Ida Barns. Mr. Josiah Little is loved and missed by his family and his friends. He will be remembered. * (note) In the 1850 Census Tallapoosa County, Alabama this family has their name misspelled. The Census writer spelled their last name "Settle" when it should have read LITTLE. *
