RETIRED TULSA TEACHER DIES
Retired Tulsa teacher Jennie Livingstone died Wednesday.
Miss Livingstone of 7 West 14th ST, Tulsa, was 85.
A native of Michigan, miss Livingstone came to Tulsa in 1927 to teach. She taught Geology in the Tulsa Public Schools until her retirement in 1959.
Miss Livingstone was an Artist. One of her paintings won an award in a Philbrook Museum of Art competition, the painting is in the Museum's permanent collection.
She earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Michigan and her Master's Degree from the University of Colorado.
Miss Livingstone was a member of the Tulsa Artist Guild, Alpha Rho Tau ( A civic art group started at the University of Tulsa), and The Tulsa Town Club. She did volunteer work for many years with the Tulsa Opera Club, designing many of their programs.
Funeral arrangements are with the Fitzgerald Funeral Home. Miss Livingstone has no known survivors.
Jennie was a good friend of mine and I share her love for the sciences, she was a really cool lady, I miss her.
