Obituary — Rapid City Journal, June 21, 1981

EDGEMONT — Services for Roy Boner, 86, longtime Edgemont resident who died Saturday in a Rapid City hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shared Ministry Church.

The Rev. Horace Parsons, Custer, will officiate. Burial will be in Edgemont Cemetery under direction of Vane Bossche Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established for the Edgemont Senior Citizens Club with the funeral home in charge.

Boner was born March 20, 1895, and in 1928 married Edith Wing. He was a longtime rancher, well driller and sheep shearer in South Dakota and Wyoming.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Edgemont Senior Citizens Club and for many years was president of the Fall River County Fair Board.

Among survivors. are his wife; a daughter, Maxine Schmidt, Edgemont; two sons, Herman Boner, Casper, Wyo., and Gary Boner, Rapid City; three brothers, Harry Boner of Lusk, Wyo., Harvey Boner of Guernsey, Wyo., and Jasper Boner. Elko, Nev.; two sisters, Nora Tolland, Houston, Texas, and Ethel DeGering, Lusk, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Earl.
