Larry Eugene Combs departed this life and went to be with his lord on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008.

He was born in King County, Washington, on November 10, 1932.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor "Elnor" Louise Combs and James Wesley Combs of Wichita, Kansas, two sons, Michael Eugene Combs of Conway, Arkansas (d. 1994) and Brent Allison Combs Stockebrand (d. 2006) of Yates Center, Kansas.

He is survived by a son Marvin Wesley Combs of Greenbrier, Arkansas and by daughters Melanie R Combs of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sharon Combs of Conway, Arkansas, and Janet Combs Patterson of Georgetown, Texas. Also 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great grandchildren and former wives, Amy Sue Rountree Stockebrand and Nancy Combs.

He also left behind countless friends across the country who will miss him dearly.

He graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas and attended Wichita State University and UCLA. As a Marine, he served his country in Korea and received the Purple Heart.

He worked for 54 years in the aerospace industry as a toolmaker, tool designer, and manufacturing engineer in the USA, Canada, and Europe. He was currently employed by Wyle Laboratories Inc., as a senior mechanical Engineer at Edwards Air force Base in California.

An accomplished aircraft pilot with a private and commercial license, he was a member of AOPA, and Experimental Aircraft Association.

Although flying was his true passion, he had a full life that also included racing Ford Formula One cars, oil painting, and was an avid railroad modeler and builder of radio controlled airplanes. He even had a short stint working in the entertainment industry at DesiLu Studio’s in Los Angeles, CA.

Graveside service will be held by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 14th at 3:00 p.m. in Conway, Arkansas at Oak Grove Cemetery.
