David M. Burgess.

Special to The State Journal.

Virden, Jan. 6. - David M. Burgess former of northeast of this city, died at 5:15 o'clock this morning at St. John's hospital. He was 51 years, 6 months and 19 days old.

Decedent was born June 17, 1876, in Taylorville, N.C., a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Burgess. He spent the last thirty-five years in this city.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Burgess; two daughters; Eva and Lucille, at home; two sisters, Mrs. J. Echert and Mrs. Victoria Watts, of North Carolina; and two brothers, Scales and Thomas Burgess, of North Carolina.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at First Methodist church, Rev. W.W. Henry, Ashland, assisted by Rev. Mr. Biddle, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be made in Virden cemetery.
