Mrs. Marguerite Dann MacDonald, 82, of 102 Clinton Place, Utica, died Friday at her home.
Mrs. MacDonald was the mother of the well-known mystery writer, John D. MacDonald of Piseco, and Siesta Key, Fla.
She was born in New Haven, Conn. She married Eugene A. MacDonald, a former vice president and treasurer of the Savage Arms Corp. He died in 1961.
Mrs. MacDonald was a member of the Women of rotary and the Fort Schuyler Club.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Forest Hill Conservatory. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Elwood T. Day Funeral Home.
