Hester is survived by her son Craig Weeks and wife Connie; grandchildren Katie Weeks, Emily Jamieson and husband James, and Rachel Weeks; and one great granddaughter Riley Jamieson. Hester was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy, and siblings Mary Smith, James Short, Jo Siratt, Virginia Coker, and Martha Osborne.
Hester is a 1946 graduate of Mesquite High School. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for both Walgreen's and the Texas Bank & Trust. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, baking and taking care of her home and family. Hester was a faithful member of Casa View Baptist Church for over 50 years. In 2005 she "retired" from 48 years of caring for infants in the church nursery. Her family remembers her as a selfless servant.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13 from 3-5PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 14 at 11AM, also at the funeral home. Interment at Mesquite Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Texas Baptist Children's Home.
