Sloan, Dorothy (Dot) Aline Plemmons, age 90, of Madisonville, went home to be with her precious Lord & Savior 9:42 P.M. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Proving a heart can only live for so long without its other half, she passed only 5 months after her beloved husband, Charles Sloan. Dot’s greatest joys in life were loving her family, homemaking and her church. She was often referred to as a “true southern lady” and had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved. She was the backbone of the many adventures her husband was involved, always providing support and strength. Member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville, Dorothy loved the Lord and taught GA’s to a special group of ladies that she loved as daughters. Worked tirelessly to make her home a place where everyone felt welcome. For years she made porcelain dogwood jewelry and often gave them to family, friends and sometimes strangers. The family asks that if you have one of these special treasures, that you wear it to the service.

Leaves behind a family that will forever miss here love and devotion, Son, Jerry Sloan and wife Kathy, Granddaughters, Melanie Sloan Phillips, Erica Sloan Phillips & husband Les, Tiffani McGinnis Williams & husband Chris, And the loves of her life, the ones who could make her smile even in her last days, Great-grandchildren, William Phillips, Anna Phillips, Josh Phillips, Sloan Phillips, Luke Phillips, Coy Williams, Beka Williams, Sister, Euretha Cookie McGinnis, Several nieces & nephews and many loyal, loving friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sloan, parents, Mack & Bessie Crow Plemmons, brothers, Marvin, Woodrow and Eugene Plemmons.
