He was born in Fries on May 14, 1943, to Everette and Ardith Ring Rector. His parents preceded him in death.
He owned and operated Jerry’s Pavement Co. for more than 20 years and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
Surviving is his sons: Jerry Rector Jr. of Ridgeway and Jason Rector of Burlington, N.C.; three sisters: Kathy Lineberry, Donna Kemper and Nancey Jones, all of Kernersville, N.C.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, N.C. Burial will be in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
