Kellogg's grandson, 79, had been Calif. Realtor
Will Lewis Kellogg, grandson of cereal company founder W.K. Kellogg, died Sunday, Feb. 22, at his home in Harbor, Ore., after a long illness. He was 79. He was born in Stevensville, Mont., where his father, Dr. Karl Hugh Kellogg, was practicing medicine. He moved to Battle Creek with his family about the time of World War I and to California in 1924. He was a graduate of Sweetwater High School, Chula Vista, Calif., and San Diego State College. After graduating, he became a management trainee for Bank of America. He enjoyed horticulture and acquired acres of lemons, which were supplemented by truck garden acreage. During World War II, he and his wife, Pat, got into defense work in San Diego. After the war, he went into the pet business, owning a bird shop in San Diego. Later he became a Realtor in California and participated in the Chula Vista-La Mesa boom. He retired in the 1970s and lived alternately in Oregon and Florida. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Patricia Tufts; a son, Will Lewis Kellogg II of Mount Shasta, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Cremation has been conducted. No services were held. Arrangements were by Litty Funeral Directors Inc., Brookings, Ore.
