Mt. Sterling, Ill., Jan. 29. -- C. D. Weigand left Friday morning for Wichita Kansas to attend the funeral of his uncle, E. J. Healy, word of whose death was received here Thursday afternoon. Mr. Healy had been sick only for a short time, and his sudden death was a surprise to his many friends in Mt. Sterling and Brown county. His wife passed away on the 12th inst.

Mr. Healy was born in this county about 68 years ago, his parents being among the early settlers of Brown county, and among the prominent farmers of the early period.

In 1886, decedent and his family went to Wichita, to make their home. Shortly afterward, he organized the Healy Commission company, and it was one of the best known commission firms in the west, [and it] did a great deal of selling of livestock.

He was here last fall, and appeared to be in very good health at that time. He is survived by three daughters and four sons, all residents of the west. The funeral was to be held Saturday morning, and the remains laid to rest in one of the cemeteries of Wichita.

He still owned 160 acres of Brown county land.
