Aarmis Brionta Barnes, age 29, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on August 10, 2017. She was born on June 23, 1988 in Gary, IN to George Barnes and Nikitta Nunn who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brothers, Harold Austin Barnes, George Barnes Jr and Dawud Barnes; sister, Sonja Barnes and many loving aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nikitta. Aarmis was a lifelong area resident and resided in Valparaiso with her uncle, Austin Nunn Jr.. Aarmis was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church of Valparaiso and graduated from Continental Academy in Florida in 2008. She worked as a CNA at Brookdale Assisted Living, and also worked as a House Specialist at Bob Evans. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August, 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 760 McCool Rd., Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor John Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Heritage Cemetery, Portage, IN. Visitation will be held from 9:00am till time of service at 11:00 am the church.
