IRENE T. ALLEN, 100, of Lambert Street, a buyer for the former J.A. Foster Inc., jewelry manufacturers, in Providence for 15 years before retiring, died yesterday at Orchard View Manor, East Providence. She was the widow of Rolvin J. Allen.
Mrs. Allen was born in Warwick, a daughter of the late George D. and Grace V. (Tourtellott) Peck. She had lived in Cranston since 1924.
Mrs. Allen previously had been a manager of the Tilden-Thurber store in Cranston, for several years in the 1950s.
She was a 50-year member of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, and a member of its Hope Circle.
She was recognized for her service to the Cranston RSVP at the Cranston Senior Center. She was a former member of Signet Chapter 21, Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by a son, a daughter, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
