STONE PAUL M. a resident of Hayward for 44 years, entered into rest from a massive stroke at Eden Hospital in Castro Valley on Tuesday, July 17, 2001. He was born in Apache, Oklahoma on August 18, 1926 to Virgil and Lilli Stone, he was 74 years of age. He served with the U.S. Navy for five years and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #3 for 50 years and work as a heavy equipment operator and foreman for 25 years. His hobbies included restoring cars and carpentry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Sonja I. Stone of Hayward. Loving father of Erick K. Stone of Hayward and step-father of David Haffner of Hayward. Dear brother of Ruby Rollines of Oklahoma, Hazel Larson and Virgie Paul, Dorothy Smith all of Fresno, Jesse James Stone and Orangeby Stone both of Arizona and Billy Stone of Kansas. Caring grandfather of Tracy, Stephanie, Elizabeth and Thomas and great-grandfather of Mathew. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm, Friday, July 27, 2001 at Missionary Baptist Church, 573 Bartlett Avenue, Hayward, 94541.
