Connie enjoyed her years of serving with Larry as a dedicated pastor's wife. She believed there was not any higher calling than investing and ministering in the lives of others. They served in pastorates in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Cushing, Oklahoma; Freeport, Texas; Blackwell, Oklahoma; Lawton, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma City. One of Connie’s favorite statements was, "The only legacy one leaves is their investment in others, especially their children and grandchildren."
One of Connie’s privileges was to work for the Oklahoma Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association (OPMCA), since 1978. She retired from full time employment in 2009, but continued to work for the organization as a consultant.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Both her family and friends always commented on her unselfish nature and positive attitude. She was a committed prayer warrior and believed in the power of prayer. Her life’s scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, because she truly believed God has a life plan for everyone. Her purpose in life was to be honorable, compassionate and Christlike.
Services were held Monday, August 21, 1:00 pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with viewing at Mercer-Adams on Sunday with family present.
Memorial donations can be made to Southern Nazarene University for the Connie L. Henderson Scholarship Endowment, 6729 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, Oklahoma 73008.
