Death’s Sad Roll
Mr. Solon Bethune
Sunday night at his home in Talbotton Mr. Solon Bethune died after a long illness. His death was not unexpected as it was known that the end could not be far off, but death’s always sad and many were saddened when the news of the end came.
Mr. Bethune had never joined any church but before his death he expressed a hope of salvation and died in peace with man and God.
He was about forty years old and was a son of the late General Marion Bethune. He leaves one sister, Mrs. George Beeland of Macon and four brothers, Mr. F.M. Bethune of Bainbridge, and Messrs. Mack, Ben and Dollar Bethune of Talbotton to whom the New Era together with a host of other friends, extends deep sympathy.
