JESSE PULLIAM
Jesse J. Pulliam, 91, a resident of the Delta area since 1930, died March 7 at the Delta Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted a week ago.
Services have been set for 2 p. m. Wednesday at Roberts Funeral Chapel. The Rev. William Bowden will officiate, and burial will be in the Delta Cemetery.
Mr. Pulliam was born Aug. 20, 1879, at Calusburg [Callisburg], Tex., and was married on Sept. 17, 1905, at Temple, Okla., to Maude B. Green. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1963. A farmer by occupation, he had homesteaded at Springfield, Colo., in 1914, and farmed in the Delta area until retirement. He was a member of IOOF Lodge No. 548 at Devol, Okla., and of Masonic Lodge AF&AM No. 420, also at Devol.
Surviving are four sons, James and Kenneth of Austin, Ray of Stockton, Calif., and Earl of Booneville, Calif., five daughters Mrs. Opal Harman of Denver, Mrs. Irene Brown of Kelso, Wash., Mrs. Bonnie Duncan and Mrs. Juanita Bloomquist both of Springfield, Ore., and Mrs. Vivian Duncan of Bend, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Attaway of Coolidge, Ariz., and Mrs. Vinnie Young of Phoenix; a half-sister Venice Arnold [note: this is Venus Psyche Burton married to Arnold Burton] of Texas; 21 grandchildren and 23 great grand-children.
