ALBERT D. SMITH
Albert D. Smith, 69, died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday at the Veterans hospital, Iowa City. His home was at 311 Jefferson, Muscatine.
He was born February 13, 1898, at Nichols, to Edward and Harriet Hillyer Smith and been a Muscatine resident the past 65 years.
He married Maude Tubbs, Nov. 15, 1920, at Muscatine. Mr. Smith was of Methodist faith. He was a membe r of the V.F.W.; and had served as a street commissioner. He had been a presser in a dry cleaning shop.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Smith at home; one daughter, Mrs. Harry "Theda" Truitt, Muscatine; one brother, Edward Smith, Oregon; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fairbanks Chapel by the Rev. Frank Gillett. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery where military services will be conducted at graveside.
