MRS. MATTIE M. SMITH

Mrs. Mattie M. Smith, 69, died at 1:35 a.m. Sunday at Muscatine General hospital following a brief illness. She had lived on Rt. 5, Muscatine.

She was born March 23, 1900, in Concord township, the daughter of Charles and Lae Una Mickey Wagner.

She married Eujean C. Smith, August 30, 1943, in Kahoka, Missouri. He died August 8, 1966.

Survivors include one son, Arnold Verdow, Marion, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Elivin Paetz, Muscatine, and Miss Lae Una Dewitt, Davenport; three brothers, Ben Wagner, Thompson, Illinois, Bart Wagner, Fredonia, and Noah Wagner, Columbus Junction; and four grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Fairbanks Chapel with Rev. O. H. Hamilton of Bettendorf, officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery.
