He was born April 2, 1930, in Palatine Bridge, the son of Homer and Gertrude (Prall)Jump.
A former resident of Worcester and Oneonta, Mr. Jump served in the U.S. Air Force from April 8, 1954, to June 6, 1961, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He formerly owned service stations in Worcester and Oneonta.
A former bus driver for Worecester Central School, he had also worked for Simonson Brothers in Oneonta and at NAPA stores in Worcester and Oneonta.
Surviving are two sons, Bernard Jump Jr of Schenevus and Jeffrey Jump of Worcester; two daughters, Desiree Jump of Richmondville and Victoria Mitchell of Charlotteville; five grandchildren; his mother, of Eden Park, Cobleskill; three brothers, Leon Jump of Sharon Springs, Robert Jump of Canajoharie and Donald Jump of Amsterdam; a sister Marilyn Austin of Delanson; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by brother Homer P. Jump & sister Evelyn F. Jump.
A memorial service was held last Saturday in the Skinner Furneral Home, Worcester, with the Rev. Judy Thistle, chaplain of Fox Hospital, Oneonta, officiating.
Burial will be in the Spring in Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester.
