Former councilman, tax collector, printer and local postmaster. Daddy served with the Army Corp of Engineers as a Tech Sgt. at Leyte in the Phillipines in WWII. Daddy worked for many years at Patterson Parchment Paper Company in Edgely before starting his own printing business, Litho Printing in Tullytown. Daddy was a life long member of the Tullytown Volunteer Fire Company (that his grandfather co-founded) and an active part of his community. He was also a member of the Bristol Masonic Lodge.
He married Grace Elizabeth Hubbs in 1940. Together they had three daughters, Linda Ann Leigh (who was stillborn), MaryEllen Leigh-Stover and Donna Leigh Manion; two granddaughters, Collene Stover Hopper and Marjorie Stover Darcy; one grandson, William Arthur Farris; one great-grandson, Paul Darryl Stover; and one great-granddaughter, Ryann Leigh Hopper.
Daddy fought the good fight against lung cancer but finally left us. That was in 1989 and I still miss him like it was yesterday.
I love you, daddy.
